US high-level delegation led by Neiman in Dhaka

A high-level delegation of the country has arrived in Dhaka under the leadership of Brent Neiman, Deputy Under Secretary of the US Department of Revenue. An important member of the delegation, US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia, Donald Lu, will arrive in Dhaka in the afternoon from Delhi.

The delegation reached Dhaka after 10 am on Saturday (September 14). Foreign Ministry’s Head of Political Affairs and Director General of North America Division Khandaker Masudul Alam welcomed the American delegation at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.

The visit of the delegation will discuss multidimensional cooperation between the two countries. But the main focus of discussion will be financial and economic cooperation.

According to the information of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the members of the delegation of the United States on Sunday (September 15), the chief advisor of the interim government. Muhammad Yunus, Foreign Affairs Adviser. Touhid Hossain and Finance and Trade Adviser Salehuddin Ahmed will have a courtesy call. Later the delegation Foreign Secretary Md. Jasim will participate in the lunch meeting with Uddin. That afternoon, the head of the delegation will have a meeting with the Governor of Neiman Bangladesh Bank, Ahsan Mansoor.

The six-member delegation led by Assistant Undersecretary Brent Neiman includes Donald Lu, Deputy Assistant Administrator of the United States Agency for International Aid (USAID) Anjali Kaur, Assistant US Trade Representative Brendan Lynch.

The foreign secretary said, looking at the identity of the members of the delegation, it can be understood that this discussion will be multi-dimensional. It will not be limited to just one specific topic. We are also preparing accordingly.

Meanwhile, the US State Department spokesman’s office in Washington announced in a press release on Tuesday that a delegation from Washington will visit Dhaka to discuss how the United States can help the interim government of Bangladesh to meet the needs of economic growth, financial stability and development.
