Sarjis Alam, one of the key coordinators of Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, has demanded that the treatment of injured students be made completely free in private hospitals as well.
He made this demand on Saturday after visiting the treatment facilities for injured students at Kurmitola General Hospital.
Sarjis Alam said that students injured in the quota movement are rarely admitted to private hospitals, as they cannot afford the treatment costs.
He urged private hospitals to waive the treatment fees for these students.
He mentioned that the government has issued a directive to keep the fees minimal, but his demand is for all costs to be completely waived, and for the government to cover any necessary expenses.
Additionally, Sarjis Alam pointed out that some individuals are falsely claiming to be coordinators or assistant coordinators and are collecting money in front of government hospitals.
He clarified that this was not instructed by the organization and urged everyone to be vigilant against such activities.
