Nazmul President & Sumon Elected General Secretary of Bangladesh Student Council

The 13th anniversary celebration and the 5th Central Conference of the Bangladesh Student Council were held. The event took place on Friday afternoon, October 4th, at the Bishwo Sahitto Kendro in the capital city. During the conference, a new 41-member central committee for the 2024-2025 session was announced, with Nazmul Hasan elected as President and Sumon Mahmud as General Secretary.

The other members of the committee include: Senior Vice President- Kawsar Ahmed Bijon, Vice Presidents: Mostarina Mausumi and Faisal Ahmed, Senior Joint General Secretary Farhan Kabir, Joint General Secretaries: Shafin Ahmed, Ayesha Zohra, Abdul Qadir Jilani, and Abdullah Al Saeed. Finance Secretary Tanveer Hasan Tuhin, Organizing Secretaries: Sirajul Islam Sajib, Tuhin Reza, SM Sohaib, Redwan Shikdar, Hasib Mahmud, Mirza Muhammad Talebul Mowla, Huzaifa Noyon, Abrarul Amin Arnob, and Abid Hasan.
Office Secretary Shariful Islam Alif, Deputy Office Secretary Md. Manjurul Islam, Publicity Secretary Mobassher Morshed Zim, Deputy Publicity Secretary Sohaib Mohammad Nahid, Information and Communication Secretary  Maksudur Rahman Tanzim, Cultural Secretary Rudaba Yasmin Samiha, Student Welfare Secretary Naimur Rahman Nafis, Deputy Student Welfare Secretary Saifullah Tawseef Sohan, Legal Affairs Secretary Lisanur Oishi, School and College Affairs Secretary Protap Pal, Environment and Climate Affairs Secretary Mahadi Mahfuz, Education and Research Secretary Ahsan Riaz, Women and Children Affairs Secretary Taslima Afroz, Sports Secretary Nur Alam Nobel, Deputy Sports Secretary Nazmul Hasan, Health Secretary Jannatul Ferdous Bhavna, Science and Technology Secretary Md. Yasin Arafat Akash, University Affairs Secretary Shahidul Islam Rahat, Program and Planning Secretary Md. Ehtesham, International Affairs Secretary Kazi Md. Nasim Hasan, Social Welfare Secretary Md. Monir Hossain.

Assistant Attorney General Md. Sabbir Hossain attended the event as the chief guest, while special guests included youth organizer and presenter Dipti Chowdhury, Engineer Dost Mohammad Shamsuzzaman (Ronic), Principal of SIMT Engineering College (affiliated with Dhaka University), and Bangladesh Student Council advisors Fuad Saki and Md. Israfil.

Speakers highlighted that the July Revolution showed how students could overcome adversity and bring about change if they desired. They emphasized that the momentum of progress, similar to the 2024 Revolution, must be sustained to build the future of Bangladesh. They also praised the organization’s effective initiatives to assist flood and winter-affected communities, calling for more proactive and robust efforts in the future.

Five organizations and two prominent individuals were awarded honorary crests for their contributions to social welfare and volunteerism. The event was attended by both former and current members of the organization. The anniversary celebration concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony.

The second part of the conference featured a contemporary Qawwali music performance by Bijon. The event ended with a special appearance by Kuddus Boyati, who captivated the audience with his performance.
