Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) Nurul Islam’s resignation has been demanded by the employees of that institution.

On Thursday (August 15), the officials and employees of the place came to the field to demand the resignation of this official.

They said that the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) is an important constitutional post whose main objective is to ensure transparency, accountability and impartiality of the government. CAG Nurul Islam gave instructions in a public meeting not to audit any project related to the name of Mujib family. His argument is that it will damage the image of the government. On July 30, the government announced a farcical mourning in memory of those killed in the anti-quota movement. But CAG Nurul was extremely angry if the officers and employees, including the cadre officers, were indifferent to the so-called mourning.

While he was the president of the BCS Audit and Accounts Cadre Association, CAG Nurul spent the bulk of the organization’s funds on Mujeeb Bandana. Later, he extorted huge sums of money from various audited offices through subordinate officials in the name of advertisement.

Despite the fact that the government house allocated for CAG is in good condition, he has colluded with the engineer and contractor in the name of repair and stole most of the money in the name of spending 11.5 crore rupees.

Finally, they said, Nurul Islam covered the background of the successful movement of anti-discrimination students. Later, he came public by appearing at an introductory event with a financial advisor. His misrule, corruption, partisanship and incompetence have turned the constitutional institution of the Comptroller and Auditor General’s office into a dysfunctional and dysfunctional institution. The CAG office has an opportunity to make an important contribution to create a discrimination-free Bangladesh in the future. No good can be achieved with Nurul Islam, the ultimate moral degenerate. Therefore, removal of Comptroller and Auditor General Nurul Islam is very necessary for the sake of the country.
